How to Download Instagram Reels on iPhone (2026)

Copy the Reel link (Share → Copy link), paste it into DownloadKit in Safari, tap Download, then open Files → Downloads and choose Share → Save Video to add it to Photos.

Step by step

  1. Open the Reel in the Instagram app and tap the paper-plane (Share) icon → Copy link.
  2. Open Safari and go to the DownloadKit Instagram Reels downloader.
  3. Tap Paste. The Reel is detected automatically and the available qualities appear.
  4. Tap Download next to the HD option. Safari shows a download arrow in the address bar.
  5. Open the Files app → Downloads, tap the video, then Share → Save Video. It now appears in Photos.

Tips

  • Want only the sound? Choose MP3 instead of a video quality.
  • Install DownloadKit as an app: in Safari tap Share → Add to Home Screen for one-tap access.
  • Private accounts can't be downloaded — only public Reels.

Why not screen-record?

Screen recording captures notifications and UI, lowers quality and often loses audio sync. Downloading the original file keeps the full resolution (usually 1080×1920) and the original audio track.
