Is DownloadKit free?

Yes. DownloadKit is completely free, with no sign-up, no download limits and no watermark.

Do I need to install an app?

No. DownloadKit runs in your browser on any phone or computer. You can optionally install it as an app from your browser menu for one-tap access.

Where are downloaded files saved?

Files go to your device's default Downloads folder. On iPhone, open the Files app → Downloads, then share to Photos if you want the video in your gallery.

Can I download private content?

No. DownloadKit only works with public posts and profiles. Private accounts and content behind a login can't be accessed.

Is it legal to download social media videos?

Saving public content for personal, offline viewing is generally tolerated, but re-uploading or using someone else's work commercially without permission can infringe copyright. Always respect the creator's rights and the platform's terms.

Do you keep a copy of my downloads?

No. We don't store videos, photos or the links you paste. Your download history lives only in your own browser and you can clear it anytime.

Why did my download fail?

The post may be private, deleted or age-restricted, or the platform may be rate-limiting requests. Wait a minute and try again, or check that the link opens in a private browser window.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes. Use Safari or Chrome on iOS 16 or later. Downloaded files appear in the Files app, from where you can save them to Photos.
