Privacy Policy

What we don't collect

  • No accounts, names, emails or passwords.
  • No copies of the media you download.
  • No list of the links you paste tied to you. Links are processed in memory to fetch the media and discarded.

What is stored on your device

  • Download history (localStorage) — so you can find past downloads. Clear it anytime on the History page.
  • Preferences — theme, language and your cookie choice.

Analytics (only with your consent)

If you click "Allow", we load Google Analytics for Firebase (anonymous usage events such as "download clicked, platform: Instagram") and Microsoft Clarity (anonymised heatmaps and session replays with text inputs masked). These help us fix broken flows. If you decline, neither is loaded.

We also use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which are cookie-free and collect aggregated page-view and performance metrics without identifying you.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes IP addresses transiently for security and rate-limiting. We log anonymous technical events (platform, success/failure, timing) to keep downloads working.

Browser extension

The DownloadKit extension (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) works the same way as the website:

  • It reads the address of the page you're on only to decide whether to show the Download button on supported social media posts, and sends a post's link to the DownloadKit API only when you click Download (or use the popup / right-click menu).
  • It stores one setting (whether the on-page button is shown) using the browser's extension storage.
  • It does not collect browsing history, personal information, credentials or page content, does not use analytics, does not inject ads, and does not sell or transfer data.
  • Permissions: downloads (save files you choose), contextMenus (right-click option), storage (the setting above), access to supported social sites (to show the button) and to the DownloadKit website (to fetch media).

Your rights

Because we don't hold personal data linked to you, there is usually nothing to export or delete. You can withdraw analytics consent by clearing site data in your browser. Questions: bizz.thegoodfinds@gmail.com.
